ELIGIBILITY

Who Can Join the Pathway

The NJCAA EU pathway is open to any European or UK student-athlete who meets the basic criteria below. Final eligibility is confirmed during the application and verification process.

Age

16 to 20 at point of application.

Academics

Minimum secondary school completion or equivalent.

Athletic Level

Open application. Level is assessed during verification.

Nationality

Open to athletes resident in Europe and the United Kingdom.

Language

Basic English required. Preparation support is available.

DOCUMENTS

What International Athletes Need to Prepare

The list below covers the paperwork most European and UK athletes are asked for during the NJCAA admission and eligibility review. Your assigned advisor will tell you exactly which items each college requires.

Academic Transcripts

Official secondary school transcripts from all years attended. Must be translated into English by a certified translator if issued in another language.

Graduation Certificate

Proof of secondary school completion (diploma, leaving certificate, baccalaureate, A-levels, Abitur, or national equivalent).

English Proficiency

TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test or equivalent. Minimum scores vary by college. Some institutions accept on-campus placement testing.

Passport & Visa Documents

Valid passport (6+ months beyond intended stay). After admission your college will issue an I-20 form to apply for an F-1 student visa.

Amateurism & Athletic History

Record of competitive history, club affiliations, prior contracts and any prize money received. Required for NJCAA amateur status review.

NJCAA Letter of Intent (LOI)

Signed once a member college offers you a place. Managed through the NJCAA Admin Portal by the recruiting institution.
